It is a busy morning that all the RM members seem to be occupied by the office stuffs. Then, a department head enters the room.
Wait. Isn't this our familiar Floor Director Dong Wan again? His acting skill is getting better. After a few chit-chat, a phone call from the president reveals the mission today - "BIG7 Alkkagi Tournament". (FYI, Alkkagi is a traditional chess that uses your fingers (and your piece) to hit the opponent's pieces out of the board)
It is a "2 vs 2" Alkkagi race. Meaning, each of the RM member has to recruit one more guest by himself/herself, from different companies:
- Yoo Jae Seok - CoKo Entertainment
- Kim Jong Kook - SBS
- Ji Seok Jin - FNC Entertainment
- Ji Hyo - Roxta Muzik
- Lee Kwang Soo - JYP Entertainment
- HaHa - Seoul SK Knights
- Gary - ESteem Models
On the journey, Jae Seok claims that his task is as easy as 'returning to his own home' (as he is familiar with all the members in the CoKo). He considers the 'luck' as the most important element in the game.
Meanwhile, Ji Hyo believes that her 'Smile' and 'Grace' are the important principles in order to persuade the 'guests'.
On the other side, it has been HaHa's dream to join the SK Knights when he was young. But he gives up after his height 'doesn't grow anymore'. He takes the quote from the famous NBA player Allen Ezail Iverson - "Playing Basketball doesn't depend on your height, but on your heart". "However, his height is still over 180cm". LOL
Once entering CoKo, Jae Seok easily gathers with 3 guys. But he seems not contented and keeps asking if "Kim Ji Min" is over there.
At the entrance of Esteem Models, Gary bumps into the model Jin Jeong Seon and Jeong Ho Yeon. His tactics - complimenting the girls. Kwang Soo too. He seems to enjoy flirting around with the girls in the JYP.
Compared to the other members, Ji Hyo has come to a rather empty place where Roxta Muzik members reside. However, she is always receiving a great welcome from the guys. And the Roxta Muzik members are confident. Being seasoned guitar players, they must have a very sensitive finger (to play the Alkkagi game).
Back to Jae Seok, I don't understand why he insists of selecting 'who is the luckiest' according to the horoscope. That really takes a lot of time and irks the casts. lol
The most productive one would be Ji Hyo. After rounds of competition, Yuk Jung Wan is selected as her teammate.
HaHa follows by. Funnily, he challenges the coach and the players in the SK Knights. He picks the one "hitting his forehead the hardest" (딱밤 - ttak bam) - Choe Bu Gyeong.
Meanwhile, Kwang Soo recruits the 2PM Wu Yeong who passes the test brilliantly. Seok Jin favors the AOA Seol Hyun more than the CNBLUE member. Gary picks the Model Lee Hye Jeong who shows a great strength in the index finger wrestling game. Jong Kook brings Kim Hwan along.
Everyone is done except Jae Seok. He selects his teammate who luckily gets the 'starred' piece randomly - Won Hyo. However, a quick demo shows that he isn't that skillful at all. lol
Then, it comes the BIG 7 Alkkagi Tournament taking place in the SBS building.
The participants are welcomed with the supports of the fans, except Jae Seok - only THREE supporters from the CoKo. "It is considered 'a lot', we are being forced to come here". Yang Sang Guk responds. lol
One interesting part is that, the supporters have the chance to vote (to guess) which team will be the potential winner. The winners and the correct voters would be rewarded today.
Then, it is revealed that, Jae Seok's team has the least voters - 6 votes. Still, Jae Seok is excited "That means there are 3 supporters from the other team!". But Sang Guk adds "Or maybe it is 6 (from the other teams. It means Jae Seok's own team doesn't support him. HAHA)".
Today, our time Judge is the popular SBS newscaster Jang Ye Won.
*It is challenging to describe the flow of the Alkkagi game in words. I would selectively pick some scenes in the second half of this episode*
1st round: CoKo vs SK Knights
The match between Jae Seok and HaHa is closed. But at the critical moment, Jae Seok manages to kill 2 birds with one stone, defeating HaHa. However, HaHa's teammate Bu Gyeong turns the table with his special 'index finger sweeping skill', beating Jae Seok's team twice.
2nd round: FNC VS Esteem Model.
Gary easily beats Seok Jin with his 100% hitting accuracy. However, Seol Hyun makes a successful strike back against Lee Hye Jeong. Now it is 1-1. In the last game, Gary's awesomeness continues, beating Seok Jin easily.
3rd round: JYP VS SBS
The 2PM Wu Yeong displays an outstanding performance beating Jong Kook's team.
In the Semi-final, SK Knights VS Esteem Model
I have to say Bu Gyeong is a great Alkkagi player. Despite the poor beginning, he is able to defeat Gary finally with the great 'defense' strategy. With 2-0, HaHa team enters the final.
Next, JYP VS Roxta Muzik
The battle between Wu Yeong and Jung Wan is another scene to remember. At the crucial moment when they are each left with 1 piece. Jung Wan suddenly summons his 'believer' to pray for his game, in front of the board. Then, Sang Guk says "Bet your life (on this game)". That makes everyone blurts out. But in the end, it is a draw. That is to say, the game between Kwang Soo and Ji Hyo will decide the winner. You won't believe your eyes that.... Kwang Soo is always weaker in front of our Ace Ji Hyo. He MISSES all the time. lol. Hence, Ji Hyo advances into the final game easily.
The Final Alkkagi game - SK Knights VS Roxta Muzik
Now, there are 7 pieces instead. One game decides the winner. Bu Gyeong VS Jung Wan. I would say the game is closed from the beginning to the end. The tension grows when each team is left with 2 pieces.
Who votes the ultimate winner correctly? Interestingly, only ONE comes from the Roxta Muzik supporters! Lol.
