For the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja, I have a healthy version of laddo made with Oats. With the increase in consuming Oats in our daily meals, Amma decided this oats laddo will be a good thing. When I was asking her what else should I make for the neivedyam, she suggested this recipe.
This is very quick as well, and if you can't wait for the ladoos to set in, you can taste the hot fresh taste of the jaggary as well. It was a quick pooja and we had to leave out. I have another quick neivedyam for tomorrow as well. So be there to check it out.
As for now, enjoy these oats laddu.
Oats Laddo
Ingredients Needed:
Oats - 1 cup
Jaggary - 3/4 - 1 cup
Cardamon a pinch
Dry fruits and nuts, roasted
Ghee - 2 -3 tbsp
How to make the Oats Laddo
Heat a non stick pan and dry roast the oats and finally sprinkle some ghee over it. Remove, keep it aside.
Next roast the dry fruits in ghee, once done, remove and keep.
Melt jaggary with water, remove scrum if any, then continue cooking till the first thread. When it reaches that stage and the syrup is thick, add the roasted oats, nuts, and mix well.
Quickly wet your hands and make balls. Make sure you are able to handle, else you will burn your palm.
Notes:
Rest the formed ladoos on plate for it to dry up.
This stays good for couple of days.
